Porchlight helps people who have nowhere to go and no-one to turn to. Some are homeless, others are struggling to cope with the pressures in their lives and need their support to keep on track.
Working across Kent and the south-east, Porchlight help vulnerable and isolated people get support with their mental health, housing, education and employment. They provide children, young people and adults with the advice, guidance and skills to live independently in the future, play an active role in their local community and fulfil their potential.
Homelessness is complicated and tackling it is more than just providing a roof. Porchlight offers long term solutions so that people can develop the confidence and the skills to move towards a more positive future.
Porchlight is always looking for volunteers to help support people who are homeless or vulnerable and living in the community. Volunteers play an important part in the work Porchlight do and give up their time for many reasons: the experience of working for a homelessness charity, developing skills they already have, or simply giving something back to the area in which they live.
